- The Ministry of Transportation of Ontario BDE Certificate Course is equivalent to the course in a Driving School Classroom.
- Introduction of this Digital Learning for the in-class portion of BDE, became effective on March 1st, 2020.
- The ministry recognizes that the Beginner Driver Education (BDE) Program is a key component of road safety initiatives in Ontario as it prepares novice drivers thoroughly for safe, confident and responsible driving.
- An advantage of this Gov't Approved Online course is the convenience of studying at your own pace in your own home and you are allowed 1 year (365 days) to complete it.
There are Two Parts to the BDE course:
- Online Learning (30 Hours): This part comprises detailed theoretical knowledge about driving as pertains to traffic laws, road safety, principles of safe driving, and driving strategies as would be applied to various traffic conditions.
- In-Car Driving - Minimum of 10 Hours: After completing the Theory Portion, the student is now ready for the In-Car Portion of the BDE Course. A Well-Trained and Qualified Driver Instructor will expose the student practically on Ontario's streets and roads on what was thought in the Theory Portion.
After completing the 30 hours of online Learning and 10 Hours of IN-CAR Sessions, student receives an MTO Certificate. What students gain with the MTO Certificate?
- Detailed Theoretical Driving Knowledge
- Potential Savings on Auto Insurance (up to 40%)
